Workshop: The Meaning of Land: Indigenous and Euro-American Mapping
How can maps reflect the worldview and relationships to the land of their creators? Examine and engage with maps made by both Native and Euro-American cartographers in this interactive virtual workshop led by Michelle LeBlanc, director of education at the Norman B. Leventhal Map & Education Center at the Boston Public Library. Participants will discuss and sketch maps and art from the Sidney R. Knafel Map Collection as well as others. Activity: Family See & Sketch
Create art with common household items in an activity for the entire family. Join the RISD Museum for an intergenerational online program that explores art using close examination, discussion, and hands-on making. Each week the session focuses on a different artwork. Recommended for children age 6 and up (with a grown up). After registering, registrants will receive an email with a Zoom invite to the program.
