Peabody Essex Museum

(MA) Director and CEO of the Peabody Essex Museum (PEM) in Salem, Brian Kennedy stepped down from his position on December 31, 2020. Prior to joining PEM in July, 2019, Kennedy was the director, president, and CEO of the Toledo Museum of Art in Ohio, and the director of Dartmouth College’s Hood Museum of Art in Hanover, NH, from 2005 to 2010. PEM announced that its board is forming a search committee to begin the process of finding Kennedy’s successor. During the search, PEM’s chief of facilities operations, planning, and security, Robert M. Monk, Jr. will lead the museum.
