The Breakers Third Floor Preservation in Progress Tour: For the first time in the 129-year history of The Breakers, the private third-floor family space occupied by generations of Vanderbilts will be open for public tours. This tour is a limited opportunity to experience the third floor of The Breakers as it undergoes a once-in-a-lifetime preservation project. The third floor, which was used as living spaces by generations of Vanderbilts and servants, has never before been open to the public. This guide-led experience details how these spaces evolved over the decades and shares new research and conservation treatments performed by the Preservation Society’s expert museum staff. Advanced ticket purchase is strongly encouraged.
